AustNet or austnet is an IRC network which aims to provide a friendly and secure alternative to other IRC networks such as DALnet and EFNet. Launched in September 1996 by Ryan Mills and Roger Yerramsetti, it was initially intended to provide an independent Australian IRC network. It now has servers located in Canada, Europe, Singapore and the United States.
