[edit] Piltdown World's Fair

I can't find any references to your "Piltdown World's Fair", so I'm assuming it was a hoax and you were just testing us out. I've deleted it. Deb 17:05, 19 May 2004 (UTC)

 • Believe it or not, I was actually serious. Oh well. Auric The Rad 17:34, May 19, 2004 (UTC)
If you really are serious, could you maybe give details, eg. when and where this event took place? It would also be a good idea to link the article to something; it was an "orphan". Deb 21:27, 19 May 2004 (UTC)
 • Only a mention in Abrell and Thompson's Actual Facts, no mention of place. The Spirit of Meat is supposedly stored in the basement of a museum in Ottawa. Auric The Rad 14:34, May 24, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Haggis Tossing

Olympic demonstration sport? Umm I can't find any evidence. Kelvinc 21:16, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Bob Transformer

You added "Bob Transformer" to the transformer article. This appears to be entirely spurious; I'm just wondering why you added it. -- The Anome 09:57, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)

 • I added this because I wanted to know if there was really a "Bob Transformer". I've come acrost it several times. You can take it out if you want to. Auric The Rad 15:27, Oct 20, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright

Please don't directly copy material from the web such as this example. Keep it limited to using them as references only. Oberiko 14:32, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)

 • Sorry about that. I thought that if I edited it for clatirt, correctness and grammar, it wouldn't be a copyvio anymore. I gess I was wrong. On the temp page, I've put back the things that I added myself. I hope that they will stay there. Auric The Rad 00:24, Oct 31, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] Image copyrights

Thanks for uploading Image:Papyrus.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, — Edwin Stearns | Talk 21:10, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Discworld

Spam message: Having noticed you have made some great additions to the Discworld articles I thought you might be interested in this new WikiProject. It's at a very early stage and needs quite a bit of work. violet/riga (t) 21:44, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] E-mail

Hi Auric, I sent you an e-mail, did you receive it? Jayjg | (Talk) 19:55, 4 Jan 2005 (UTC)

 • Sorry, I've been busy with work. Auric The Rad 15:49, Jan 12, 2005 (UTC)
 • Oh, that's fine, but did you get it? If not, I can re-send. Jayjg | (Talk) 16:49, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)
 • Re-send it. I've forgorren what it said.Auric The Rad 20:14, Feb 27, 2005 (UTC)

Basically it was this; about 5 months ago you added Emanuel Rabinovich as a fictional creation of Eustace Mullins to the List of fictional rabbis [1]. I was wondering what your source for this was. Jayjg (talk) 22:19, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)

 • My source was a book, titled The World's Greatest Mistakes - Nigel Blundell.

[edit] Fanconi Anemia

Auric, I'm new to Wikipedia, but not to FA. I was wondering what your conection is to this ultra-rare and usually unknown disease is. My younger brother has FA and I was his donor. Just interested. Feel free to email me at laonoodlekeemow@gmail.com . Aaron.

[edit] Picture of the island of stability

A long time ago, you requested a picture of this. Check out the new "see also" link. Does it suffice? I've watchlisted your talk page; you can reply here. --Smack (talk) 20:48, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

That's kind of what I wanted, but a smaller version was more in mind. The Encylopedia of Physics (2nd Ed.) has this, on page 1204, as a sort of graph and chart combined. It also mentions the reef of stability and the sea of instability. I have a scan of it but I didn't use it, because of copyright reasons. Auric 02:53, August 30, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Social Technology

Dear friend,

Thank you for putting my article on Social Technology in the right category and marking it as a stub. I will try and extend this in the next few days. I am trying to add a section every day.

I feel like Alice in Wonderland. Please correct any errors that I make.

Best regards, Nirupma Kapoor neeray 18:26, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikimedia Canada

Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there! -- user:zanimum

[edit] Hey

Hey thanks for joining sporewiki. I'm glad a more veteran wikipedian joined up with us. I was reading your large amount of userboxes and we have quite a lot of the same likes and other things, which is pretty sweet. Just wanted to say hello and welcome aboard. :) Chris M. 16:55, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

 • You're quite welcome. --Auric 22:20, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Phonautograph ncd.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Phonautograph ncd.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:08, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Please assert notability under WP:MUSIC - as of right now it is a CSD A7 candidate. - CrazyRussian talk/email 20:35, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

They were referred to in a Simpsons episode, 51 Google hits, two hit singles, and a web page. If that's not notable enough, at least I tried. -- Auric 20:49, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vampires and prosopagnosia

Hi, do you have a source for the connection between the two? Doesn't sound obvious to me - seeing a face is one thing, recoginzing it is another. Regards, --194.145.161.227 19:16, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Nope, sorry. When I added this it seemed logical, but now that I've researched it more, it seems less so. Remove it it you want to. -- Auric 19:41, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! :) --194.145.161.227 17:11, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
