Aurora, West Virginia

Aurora is an unincorporated community located in Preston County, West Virginia, USA. Aurora was originally a German settlement. Its name was suggested because of the town's high altitude. Aurora is located on US Route 50 between the Maryland State Line and the Town of Rowlesburg. Cathedral State Park is located to the east of the village of Aurora's Post Office.
