August von Pelzeln

August von Pelzeln (1825 - September 2, 1891) was an Austrian ornithologist.
Pelzeln was in charge of the mammal and bird collections at the Imperial Museum of Vienna. He worked on the birds collected by Johann Natterer in Brazil in 1822.
He was forced to retire from the museum due to ill health, and died at Oberdöbling near Vienna.
