August Pauly

August Friedrich von Pauly (May 9, 1796, Benningen am Neckar - May 2, 1845, Stuttgart) was a teacher who began the first edition of the classical encyclopedia Realencyclopädie der classischen Altertumswissenschaft, whose later editions are commonly known as the Pauly-Wissowa. Pauly died while working on the fourth volume.
