August Nordenskiöld

August Nordenskiöld (1754-1792)was a fenno-swedish alchemist. He was supported by the king of Sweden, Gustav III, in his efforts to find the "Philosopher's Stone", or "lapis philosophorum", in order to create gold. In 1782 he led the kingdom's mining operations in Finland.
