Atsbi Wenberta

Atsbi Wenberta (or Atsbi) is one of the 36 woredas in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Located in the Misraqawi Zone at the eastern edge of the Ethiopian highlands, Atsbi Wenberta is bordered on the south by the Debubawi (Southern) Zone, on the southwest by Wukro, and on the northwest by Saesi Tsaedaemba. Towns in Atsbi Wenberta include Atsbi Endaselas and Haik Mesahil.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 113,966, of whom 60,985 were males and 52,981 were females; 8,241 or 7.23% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 19.6%. With an estimated area of 885.32 square kilometers, Atsbi Wenberta has an estimated population density of 128.7 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 141.59.[1]
