ATP Challenger Series
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The ATP Challenger Series is a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally that are part of the ATP Tour. Challenger circuit tournaments offer players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $25,000 to $150,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. Composed of players who have had success at the satellite and futures levels of the ATP tour, the Challenger series has many young and promising players working their way up to play in ATP tournaments. Depending on the prize money available, court surface and location of the event, players at Challenger tournaments are usually ranked anywhere from 80-300 in the ATP entry rankings.
