Atomic Energy Act

The Atomic Energy Act may refer to a number of different laws around the world, usually meant to govern nuclear power and/or nuclear weapons production.
In the United States, there are two federal laws known by the name:
- United States Atomic Energy Act of 1946 — first postwar legislation governing nuclear weapons and nuclear power in the United States; created the United States Atomic Energy Commission.
- United States Atomic Energy Act of 1954 — a substantial amendment to the 1946 statute.
There are also Atomic Energy Acts in the United Kingdom and India, at the very least.
