Athena Voltaire—by Steve Bryant (A), Paul Daly (W), Chad Fidler (C) and Jason Millet (C)—is published by Ape Comics.
In 2002, Athena Voltaire launched online at AdventureStrips.com. When SdventureStrips was folded into its sister site, ModernTales.com, Athena Voltaire followed. The series ended its online run at GraphicSmash.com. Along the way the series landed on a Best Webcomics of 2003 list or two, garnered an Eisner Award nomination (Best Digital Comic, 2004) and was included in "The Year's Best Graphic Novels, Comics & Manga" (2004 edition).
In early 2006, AV debuted in print at Speakeasy Comics and sold out at Diamond Comics distributers within two weeks of release of the first issue. 30 days later, Speakeasy Comics folded up shop.
Ape Entertainment relaunched the series in June with the miniseries Flight of the Falcon. The first issue of the Ape series included the Speakeasy release and also the unreleased second Speakeasy book. Flight of the Falcon will conclude in January 2007.
A trade paperback called Athena Voltaire: The Collected Webcomics will be released in December 2006.
