Aswan Governorate

Aswan (Arabic: أسوان) is one of the governorates of Egypt. It is located in southern Egypt. Aswan is its capital. It borders Qina Governorate to the north, Red Sea Governorate to the east, Al Wadi al Jadid to the west, and Sudan to the south. The population of the governorate are 1,100,000 (2001). It covers 34,608 km².
