Why is Buzz Aldrin in this category but not in the category American astronauts? The reason I ask is because Neil Armstrong is in American astronauts but not this category.
[edit] Military Ranks
I've noticed that in some articles, astronauts and cosmonauts with military backgrounds (and who hold/held military rank) don't have their military ranks given. It's customary to note that rank in biographical material about them, because in most cases their spaceflight role follows directly from pre-spaceflight military career. Please, future submitters of entries to this category, and editors of existing entries, make a point of citing military ranks as appropriate. Certainly, those military space pioneers earned it. -- Gnoitall 20:20, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
- Articles are displayed in categories based on the article title alone. Those follow Wikipedia's naming convention and do not include military ranks. These ranks should not be included in the sort keys either. Military and non-military career details should be discussed in each article. Rmhermen 17:56, August 19, 2005 (UTC)
