[edit] Game play
Users design their own spacecraft by connecting various modules together, while keeping the total cost of the modules within the (fixed) spending limit. The attributes of the craft are determined entirely by the modules used in construction and the arrangement of these modules.
In battle, if modules are destroyed by an opponent’s weapons or hazards on the playing field, one loses the functionality of that module and all modules connected through it; ultimately, if the cockpit is destroyed, one dies and has to respawn.
As of version 1.08, game play occurs on two-dimensional sections of space, bound by a rectangular border ("cubes"). Player control is similar to that found in the game asteroids.
[edit] Business model
The game is available for free download and play. An expansion pack is available for a one time fee of $19.95.
[edit] Guilds
There are many guilds in Astrobattle, each of which is only a loose collection of players interested in playing together. In general, they have little effect on gameplay for most members.
