Astound Broadband

Astound Broadband is a corporation providing broadband internet, telephone, and cable TV service in Walnut Creek, California; Concord, California; and St. Cloud, Minnesota. Astound is a subsidiary of Wave Broadband based in Kirkland, Washington, which provides the same services to parts of the Seattle area, as well as Cerritos, California and Ventura, California. Astound claims to have 55,000 subscribers and Wave claims to have 140,000 subscribers.
On August 18, 2006, RCN announced it was selling its San Francisco operations, representing 18,000 subscribers, to Astound for $45 million. [1]
In May 2006, the company began to offer free wireless internet service in Walnut Creek, California.[1] In 202, it began to offer tiered data service in a number of communities. [2]
