Asian Television Awards

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Asian Television Awards, an appreciation to recognize and reward programming and production excellence in Asia's television industry. Held every December, the Awards draws about 1,400 entries each year from a wide range of broadcasters, including free-TV stations and pay-TV platforms, as well as many independent productions houses in Asia. Every year, at least 9 jury sessions are held in several Asian cities including Kuala Lumpur and Singapore where the panel of judges of over 15 countries evaluate and select the entries in close sessions. The results are then tabulated and audited by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the winners are being announced during the Awards' night in Singapore. Launched in 1996, the Awards usually be given out for over 30 categories including Best Documentary Program, Best News Program, Best Cinematography, Best Current Affairs Presenter and many more.
