Ashtānga Samgraha

Ashtānga Samgraha is a classical book of Ayurvedic medicine. The book was compiled, edited and recomposed by Vagvhatta the second.

The book consists of the teachings of the three maestros: Ayurveda Charak , Sushruta and Vagabhtta the first, who had written the Astang Hridya. Vagabhatta the second assimilated the teachings of all the three maestros, along with his own experiences into a voluminous book and named it the Astanga Sangraha.

The book deals in the eight sections of Ayurveda, known as Astanga Ayurveda, the eight fold sections of Ayurveda. The book is divided into six sections known as :

  1. Sutra Sthan
  2. Uttar Sthan
  3. Shareer Sthan
  4. Nidan Sthan
  5. Chikitsa Sthan
  6. Kalpa Siddhi sthan
