Ashley Abbott

Ashley Suzanne Abbott Lassiter Newman Bladeson Howard Carlton is a fictional character on the CBS soap opera The Young And The Restless. Actress Eileen Davidson originated the role in 1982, departed in 1989 and returned in 1999. During the ten years that Davidson was away, the part of Ashley was played by Brenda Epperson Doumani (1989-1996), then Shari Shattuck (1996-1999). Ashley (Davidson) is set to exit the show in January 2007.

The strong-willed eldest daughter of Jabot Cosmetics tycoon John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), Ashley is the head of R&D at Jabot, a prominent Jabot Executive Board Member and chemist, and is fiercely protective of her family (she even hired a private investigator to stalk her stepmother Gloria (Judith Chapman)), especially where her daughter Abigail (Darcy Rose Byrnes) is concerned.
Having previously been married to Dr. Stephen Lassiter (Rod Arrants)(dissolved by his death), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) (Abby's biological father) (divorced), Blade Bladeson (Michael Tylo) (dissolved by his death), Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck)(divorced) and Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) (divorced; 2006), Ashley is briefly dated Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), although she is very open about the fact that Victor (who is now married to Nikki Reed (Melody Thomas Scott)) will always be the love of her life - she even secretly had her self inseminated with his sperm, resulting in Abby's birth. She chose to use Victor's sperm because she had previously aborted a child by him, which she regretted.
