Ashlee Vance

Ashlee Vance (born 1977) is an American columnist for the online technology website The Register. He has written for The Register since 2003. Vance covers companies such as IBM, HP, Intel and Dell and also writes about a wide range of technology topics, including robots and Segway scooters. He tends to write in a sarcastic, cynical tone.

Vance is currently writing a book on the history of the Silicon Valley that will be published in 2007 by the Globe Pequot Press. His writing often also appears in the New York Times and the Economist and such publications as the Chicago Tribune, CNN.com, the Globe and Mail, the International Herald Tribune and CNET. Born in South Africa, Vance grew up in Texas. He now works in Mountain View, California.
