Ash Saver

Ash Saver is a fictional giant robot featured in the Super Robot Wars series. It has appeared as a playable unit in Super Robot Wars Advance available to Axel Almer and Lamia Loveless, and in Super Robot Wars: Original Generation 2 as a secret unit. Its design is based on the Ashclief from Super Robot Wars 64.
The Ash Saver is a high-class unit piloted by exceptional pilots and officers, although a scaled-down variant is also mass-produced for less able (or important) pilots.

The original Ash Saver is humanoid in appearance, sports a sleek, mobility-oriented design and a blue paint job. The mass-produced versions are painted in a green and white color scheme.
The Ash Saver is equipped with homing missiles, two hand-held guns, a beam coat, a missile jammer, and a laser blade for use in close combat. A remote weapon system not seen in the mass-production variant is available in the officer-use variant.

- Fire Dagger
These are homing missiles, or perhaps micro-missiles, stored in and released from the shoulders.
- Laser Blade
A hand-held energy sword. The Advance version was shown to be larger than an ordinary Mobile Suit beam saber and delivered one vertical slash, but the OG2 renders it the same size as a plasma cutter, with two slashes in the animation.
- Gun Rapier
A rapid firing beam rifle. The Advance version was double-barrelled, one on top of the other, and the barrels alternated firing. In OG2, the beams were fired in a burst of three shots from a single barrel only.
- Halberd Launcher
Changing very little between its Advance and OG2 versions, the Halberd Launcher is a hand-held multi-beam launcher. The weapon is unique in that it opens up after it is pulled out, resembling a tuning fork with a pistol grip. Energy gathers as a ball between the tines before being fired at the target as multiple beams.
- Sword Breaker
Available only on the blue Ash Savers, the Sword Breaker launches several remote weapons resembling fin funnels from the Ash Saver's body. These weapons then circle the target, firing beams at it before edging closer and slashing it from all angles, similar to the R-3's Strike Shield attack. After firing this weapon, the Ash Saver's body looks bare, as if stripped of armor plates.

As mentioned before, a mass-produced variant of the Ash Saver exists. It is less agile than the original, and the Sword Breaker weapon system is not available. The other weapons and defensive features are present, though. This variant is usually piloted by W-series bioroids.

Lemon Browning pilots a blue Ash Saver in both Advance and Original Generation 2, and she is rather skilled with it. Archibold Grimms also pilots a blue Ash Saver after his Rhinoceros land battleship is destroyed, in his last stand in Original Generation 2.

Like most units created by the Shadow Mirror, the Ash Saver has a self-destruct option called Code ATA, which stands for "Ashes To Ashes."
