Asian Football Confederation countries.

Notes:

  • Australia joined the AFC in 2006, and is an ASEAN invitee.
  • Maldives Republic is assigned to the Asean region by the AFC (and apparently an invitee, but not confirmed), but takes part in tournaments with South Asian nations.
  • Iran is assigned to the Central Asian region by the AFC, but takes part in tournaments with West Asian nations.
  • Kyrgyzstan is assigned to the Central Asian by the AFC, but took part in the West Asian Football Federation Championship in 2000.
