ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) is a subset of nations within the Asian Football Confederation from Southeast Asia. The AFF was founded in 1994 by the 10 nations in Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia,Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
In 1996, the federation ran the first Tiger Cup and since then it has further expanded its role in ASEAN football with the ASEAN Club Championship in 2003.
Today the AFF is still expanding with East Timor applying to join the organisation in 2004 while Australia, who joined the Asian Football Confederation on January 1, 2006, has been invited to participate in ASEAN events, but is not yet an official member.
