Ascot Vale Stakes

The Ascot Vale Stakes is a Group 1 Australian thoroughbred horse race for Three year olds run at Set Weights over 1200 metres, at Flemington Racecourse on VRC Derby Day.

  • Until 1965 the Ascot Vale Stakes was run in autumn for 2 year olds.
  • From 1969 the Ascot Vale Stakes has been run in the spring for 3 year olds.
  • Prior to 2006 the Ascot Vale Stakes was run in September.
  • Prior to 2006 this race held Group 2 status.
