Ascari A10

The Ascari A10 is an automobile currently under development by the British company Ascari Cars. The car is a development of the race car campaigned by Ascari in the Spanish GT championship series, and will be the second road car produced by the company.

The A10 will feature a 5.0 L V8 engine derived from the 2000 - 2003 BMW M5's motor; it will produce 625 hp. The engine will deliver power via a six speed manual transmission, with a sequential manual gearbox also being available. The car will also feature carbon fibre bodywork, which will contribute to its relatively light weight of 1280 kg (approximately 2800 lbs.).

Ascari claims that the A10 will be capable of a top speed of 215 mph.

The Name A10 was derived to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company, 10 was also the number of A10's Ascari originally would build, Although insiders now admit that if demand were to be greater...

The Ascari website states that the A10 will be released in "Summer 2006", at a price of approximately £350,000 (US$676550). The company plans to hand-assemble 50 A10s at its Banbury, England assembly plant.
