Did you even LOOK at the site/program? There are many more users than just his wife - in fact, the program is used by quite a few major sites as their blogging platform. It seems to me that if this program has a 'vanity' listing or 'ad' then so do Blogger and Xanga and all the other programs listed. This is supposed to be a PUBLIC resource of information - PHP Blog Manager is a free tool available for public use, so your choosing to remove it seems a bit harsh - if it is in fact just because it's 'new'
