Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/MuggleCast
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I see you are considering deleting the Mugglecast entry on Wikipedia, and I would like to prove that by having Mugglecast as a page, Wikipedia will get even more hits because of it.
Mugglecast is a very popular podcast from Mugglenet which does have it's own Wikipedia page. Mugglenet gets millions of users a month, from hundreds of different countries.
Mugglecast has been on Yahoo a few times, here are the links. Mugglenet.com Taps Limelight's Magic for Podcast, Mobilcast affiliated with Mugglecast
Also, it's been mentioned repeatedly by the CEO of iTunes, for example, it's in their newsletter this week: iTunes Muggecast Mention
70,000 people are subscribed to Mugglecast on iTunes, and it has always been at least in the top 50 podcasts, usually much higher though. The first month it was on iTunes, it was #1 on podcast subscriptions.
Frappr, which is a Google map where you can post points on a map and comments, has a Mugglecast page. Mugglecast has almost 3000 different people pinpointed around the globe on that map
Also, on The Official Mugglecast Fanlisting and Forums, which just came out 2 days ago, there are already about 100 forum members, 600 fanlisting members, and 525 different post on the forum.
Mugglecast is also hosting a live event. At the biggest Barnes and Nobles in NYC, they will be holding an Episode 15 Live Podcast, where it is estimated 700 fans alone will be there.

- Thank you for taking the time to post this.
You wouldn't believe how many articles we see made every day that are typoed, biased, nonsensical, libelous, and above all, vanity. After all, if you saw this page, would you want it in an encyclopedia?
I also thank you for taking the time to expand the article; it's by far the best thing you can do if you want it alive. Personally, I think it would be better as a section of MuggleNet. The underlying problem is that if we let this article stay, we set a precedent that anyone else can call upon to flood us with podcasts of sketchy notability. (This isn't something you should expect to understand if you haven't frequented the encyclo for a while.) I advise you to move the content to MuggleNet. Deltabeignet 04:45, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
