[edit] MATSES
Organization has not been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the organization itself. Please note that "Matsés" is the name of the actual tribe, so there are many hits on Google for that word. Almost all of the hits for "Movement in the Amazon for Tribal Subsistence and Economic Sustainability" are either by the organization or it's president Dan James Pantone (who recently created an article about himself). - Comment -- This article and organization have been discussed elsewhere at length -- I have placed links to those discussions on this AfD's talk page. --A. B. (talk) 13:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Delete -- I have asked multiple times for some shred of reliable evidence to verify notability, participating in lengthy exchanges with Matses to no effect. Despite conflict of interest issues and the wide-spread, inappropriate addition of links to numerous articles (including one to a MATSES "join.html" page). I'll be happy to change my comment to "Keep" should reliable verification of notability be found. --A. B. (talk) 14:08, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

- There should already be something in the Spanish Wikipedia -- is there anything there about MATSES?
- Delete. No independent sources and therefore completely unverifiable. It could be a giant hoax for all we know. If this is what it says, there should be something written about it somewhere. —Moondyne 14:45, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

- Now that you mention it, this is worrying, given the Paypal links on MATSES' web site. If it is a hoax or scam, I'd hate to see Wikipedia implicitly endorse it with an article and a bunch of links. For now, I'm assuming (hoping) that it's just a small, well-intentioned organization flying either just below or above the English language radar. --A. B. (talk) 15:09, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
A. B., please respect my privacy and I will respect yours. I could reveal your real identity as you have revealed mine. You have yet to delete direct references revealing my identity.
A. B., please stop repeating your comments about "conflict of interest issues and the wide-spread, inappropriate addition of links to numerous articles." The links are gone. Leave it at that.
As I pointed out earlier A. B., you yourself are guilty of serious conflict of interest issues with your editing. I do not want to made a public debate over your "conflict of interest issues" as you have done with MATSES.
Why do you persist in defaming MATSES? MATSES is a respected Native American non-profit organization. One could easily interpret your actions as racist. There are plenty of spammers out there using WP. A. B., why do you have to dedicate your time to hurting an organization that is only trying to help people? You are very misguided in your continued harassment of this indigenous organization. Matses 16:04, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
