The result of the debate was not easy to work out. There is no consensus to delete. The main question is whether to keep or merge with World of Warcraft. I will call this a keep for now because the World of Warcraft article does not appear to have a space for specific, individual NPCs. If anyone has a better place to merge this article, that will also be acceptable. Sjakkalle (Check!) 07:50, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Captain Placeholder
Delete - not just a minor character from a game, but a temporary minor character that doesn't even exist any more --Stormie 12:04, Jun 5, 2005 (UTC)
Keep - However, one that has had a substantial effect on the community and has, on many servers, become a significant part of the culture. --John Kenneth Fisher 14:31, Jun 5, 2005 (UTC)
- Merge with World of Warcraft -- I agree that Captain Placeholder seems to have had a substantial effect on the WoW community and as such is notable enough in that context; however, letting the good Captain have an article of his own might be a overdoing it a little, especially as he has passed on. -- Captain Disdain 17:35, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Keep - what John said. I think that keeping the Captain separate would keep the place tidier; it functions well as a separate article, while in the WoW one it'd make a significant non sequitur, being irrelevant to the description of the game. -- Kizor 00:41, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Merge with World of Warcraft. Alternatively, an article on the WoW community and its related topics (Leeroy Jenkins, for example) would probably be appropriate. Junjk 14:04, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Keep as above comment ··gracefool |☺ 08:21, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Keep in that respect. I think articles about the communities of online games is a very good idea. --CGally81 22:33, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Merge with World of Warcraft --Nova Cygni 01:18, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Aren't we done now
We're over the 5 days, but not sure of the procedure to declare this VFD period ended. --John Kenneth Fisher 15:59, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)
