Andrew Noratrian,(AKA: Wingnut, Drew, Rap-Master A-Dog), is perhaps the best blogger in all history of the blogging. Seriously, this guy knows his blogs. One time he was talking to me and he was all like: "Man, I love to blog up all over this place. I will totaly blog you. Whatever that is. I don't know because my blogs are so much in the futrures of the outer spizace that they dont even call them blogs where I come from. In fact they don't even have a word for the blogs, it's more of a general concept. Like how when you look directy at the sun and then you look away all fast, and then you think you're still looking at the sun. There's no word for that either but you know what I'm saying. Right?"

[edit] Crossingpoint
These four guys from Durban, South Africa have been pumping out a spine chilling breed of positive and progressive energetic hardcore since 1998. They are South Africa's first, longest running, and most influential hardcore band. Many local bands cite Crossingpoint as an influence and inspiartion. Today the band are best described as playing a passionate and often brutal synthesis of metal and punk with a positive, relevant message.
In a world where heavy music is slowly being embraced by a wider audience, many bands have watered down their message to suit the listener. Where it used to be about an uncompromising message in response to societal problems, these days it seems to mostly be about the sound, with any sort of message being secondary. Crossingpoint have stayed true to their roots by playing creative, energy-driven music with a message that demands application. It's hard to go to a crossingpoint show and leave unchanged. Whether you're screaming your lungs out with the band or following their lyrics on their lyric sheets handed out before each show, theirs is a power and a passion that few bands consistently achieve.
Crossingpoint recorded & released their self-titled album independently in october 2004. All stops have been pulled out in terms of its recording, production and presentation. In what is a first for a South African band, it comes as an eye catching 6 panel 'digipak' package!
Real change happens in the minds and hearts of individuals who can go on to affect others. Crossingpoint's urgent and honest message deals with issues such as sexism, loyalty and personal responsibility, and is aimed at reaching the individual in a thoughtful and inspiring way.

A lossless extension of the JPEG digital image encoding standard, lossless JPEG has been superceded by JPEG-LS.
The algorithm is not based on the Discrete Cosine Transform, as any rounding errors would prevent the algorithm from being lossless. Instead, each pixel is encoded by the difference between its value and its predicted value. Predicted values are based on the values of pixels above and/or to the left of the pixel itself, allowing the image to be reconstructed by knowing the value of the top-left pixel and all the differences.
Eight different predictors are allowed in the standard:

[edit] Paul H. Weaver
Paul H. Weaver is a Media Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and author of "The Suicidal Corporation", "News and the Culture of Lying", and other books including "Critical Choices II, The Americans: 1976" coauthored with Irving Kristol in addition to numerous articles.
He studied at Cornell and later Harvard under Andrew Hacker, Allan Bloom, James Q Wilson and Harvey C Mansfield, Jr. After earning a PhD at Harvard, Weaver was an assistant professor of government at Harvard, assistant managing editor of "Fortune" magazine, and Economic Communications Planning Director at Ford Motor Coporation.
Drawing upon his participant observations at Ford Motor Corporation, Weaver echoed Gabriel Kolko and other New Left historians' earlier findings that corporations talk free enterprise but practice big government instead, stating "There was something exploitative, aggressive, and constitutionally subversive about the corporation as it emerged in the nineteenth century, as they had argued" [Weaver, 102]. "The corporation had never been for markets, limited government, private property, or the other values associated with the business cause", he wrote [Weaver, 99].
Conservative newspaperman David Lawrence made a similar observation more than 50 years before, stating in his book "Beyond the New Deal" that "theoretically corporations are creations of the state". As children of the state, they tend to act as bureaucratically and as inefficiently as their parent. It is interesting to note that in a free market there are no corporations; corporations are creations of the state.

[edit] Emokid21ohio and Emogirl21
EmoKid21Ohio and Emogirl21 are self obsessed american teenaged "emo kid" characters, created by friends, Benjamin Johnson and Amy Goodchild in April 2006. They created a chain of hoax video blogs, which they posted on www.youtube.com. The hoax blogs gained much attention in many online forums and other media.
The video blogs fooled many people into believing the characters were really the quintessential 'emokids', constantly complaining about their lives, listening to music and writing poetry. The parody eventually had to come to an end when fans of the series discovered the real myspace pages of Amy and Ben. The videos 'Death of Emokid21ohio' and 'Death of Emogirl21' were released on 26th April 2006, in which Ben Johnson and Amy Goodchild came clean as to who they really were, by parodying a BBC news report. Spinebuster | |

Country | Scotland, United Kingdom |
Years active | 2005 – Present |
Genres | Crossover, Groove Metal |
Members | Scott O'Neill (vocals), Joe Cassidy (bass and backing vocals), Pete McTaggart (guitar), Stewart Everson (guitar), George Henry (guitar) |
Spinebuster are a recently-formed metal band from Scotland, with previous incarnations and roots that date back to Summer 2002.
[edit] History: Psyko Dalek / Previous Incarnations Of Spinebuster
The initial seeds of Spinebuster were first sewn in the Summer of 2002 by bassist / backing vocalist Joe Cassidy and guitarist Pete McTaggart, amidst a chlostraphobic and repetitive heavy music climate in their hometown of Glasgow, Scotland. Desperate to inject some diversity into the local metal and hardcore scenes, mostly dominated by Grindcore and Extreme Metal bands at the time, Joe and Pete hoped to bring back the somewhat forgotten art forms of Crossover and Groove Metal which had been bastardised in recent years by similar but watered-down Nu Metal bands.
After bulking-up to a 4-piece line-up also consisting of drummer "Wee" Ross McLelland (who split his time with Glaswegian pop-punk group Kicking Buckets) and vocalist "Big" Chris Myler (who would later go on to form Metallic Hardcore outfit By My Hands), the band referred to itself with such temporary in-joke names as Cider-Man and Reisdent Steve-Il before Joe concocted the name Psyko Dalek while on a bathroom break from a name brainstorming session with the other band members.
Around the same time that that the band name Psyko Dalek began to stick, second guitarist Div Grimason entered the fold and the 5-piece began to take things more seriously by making their first foray into the live gigging environment, playing fairly regularly at the Universal Connections youth club in Cambuslang (where they also rehearsed at weekends). Psyko Dalek by far and away became the most popular band playing the Universal Connections' regular local band nights, attracting large crowds of young people from in and around the Glasgow area. This popularity eventually brought them the attention of TV stations, and the band was featured on an episode of BBC Scotland's "XS" documentary series about alternative culture in Glasgow. As a result of being beamed into television sets all around the country, the band immediately gained extreme all over Scotland, bringing both positive and negative press to the rookie group.
As Psyko Dalek were just starting to make serious dents in Glasgow's more established and respected music venues, tension evident in the XS documentary finally came to boiling point, and Chris left the vocalist position due to constant arguments with guitarist Div, soon followed by drummer Ross who left to focus on his other band Kicking Buckets.
For a short-term remedy to the sudden exit of two founding members of the band, Div moved from guitar to vocalist and a new drummer was drafted in, to flesh things back out to a 4-piece situation with Joe and Pete still respectively playing bass and guitar. The Psyko Dalek sound began to evolve and take it's own form in this time, around early to mid 2003, as the hardcore punk influenced shouting and squawking of previous vocalist Chris Myler was at first replaced by Div's unconvincing attempts at a death metal growl before finally resting on a fast-paced aggressive vocal style heavily influened by rap music which would become the Psyko Dalek trademark. The band cycled through a few temporary members at this time, but eventually bulked back up the complete 5-piece form with the addition of George Henry behind the drumkit and Stewart Everson on second guitar duties.
The Psyko Dalek formation of Joe Cassidy (bass / backing vocals), Pete McTaggart (guitar), Div Grimason (vocals), George Henry (drums) and Stewart Everson (guitar) would eventually become the group's definitive classic line-up, pulling some of the largest crowds in the history of Glasgow's local underground music scene at well-known venues such as The Cathouse, The Barfly, Strawberry Fields and The QMU. This was also the line-up which wrote and recorded the only complete release under the Psyko Dalek name, titled "Fuck What You Heard", which picked-up rave reviews from the press that included a 7 out of 10 review in the June 2005 issue of Metal Hammer magazine.
The in-fighting which had previously brought about the departure of Chris and Ross continued to plague the band, however and - despite a strong cult following thanks to support slots with such well-known touring bands as Defenestration, Downset and Clutch - the "classic line-up" eventually dissolved throughout 2005 with the departures of Stewart, George and, most devastating of all, co-founder Pete. With just Div and co-founder Joe remaining, the group attempted to fight on, recruiting a revolving-door of guitarists and drummers that included sticksman John Lee of Retribute Records' Man Must die and former Regorge fame. The loss of core members weakened the band's public image, however, and crowd attendance at their shows dwindled down to fewer and fewer as members continued to come and go.
Psyko Dalek's final blow came when the last remaining founding member, Joe, finally felt that carrying-on with the band in this manner was an insult to it's former glory. It was decided that the most popular line-up of Joe, Pete, Div, Stewart and George would re-unite for one last time, supporting Amen at The Barfly on 13th July 2005, and then all would go their seperate ways and lay the name Psyko Dalek to rest for good.
[edit] Spinebuster: Present Day And Future
In the aftermath of their re-union for the final ever Psyko Dalek gig in July 2005, the musicians comprising the band's most well-known and most influential line-up enjoyed being back together so much that they decided it would be a shame to discard such natural chemistry. Bassist Joe Cassidy, drummer George Henry and guitarists Pete McTaggart / Stewart Everson started jamming together on some instrumental tracks, finding that in all their time apart they hadn't missed a step. A search began for a vocalist to match the band's newer, harsher direction.
After a lengthy 7 month period of constant tryouts and mass interst from frontmen throughout the Glasgow metal scene, the band now named SPINEBUSTER finally settled with long-time friend Scott O'Neill.
The 5-piece are currently performing their aggressive crossover / groove metal music throughout Glasgow and the whole of the UK, impressing some of the largest and most appreciative crowds that most of the venues they play in have ever seen. An as-yet-untitled demo CD of new material is expected to drop in mid-2006.

[edit] America's Oldest Active Gun Club
Although there are several clubs that claim the title, the Massachusetts Rifle Association (also known as "Walnut Hill") is the oldest active gun club in the United States.
On November 4, 1875 a notice was published in the Boston Morning Journal extending an invitation to all who would be interested in the organization of “a Boston Gun Club”. At 4:00 pm that very day about twenty people met at the Bromfield House at 55 Bromfield Street in Boston, near what is today one of Boston’s busiest pedestrian intersections, Downtown Crossing. At this meeting Dr. Isaac H. Hazelton presided and Mr. Charles A. Sawyer (one of the authors of an earlier article in October, 1875 urging the formation of a “Rifle Association”) acted as clerk. All present were in support of forming a rifle club at once.
They quickly formed a committee to look for a range and another committee to put together a set of rules and by-laws for the new club. They then signed a document expressing their desire to form an association and placed it in the window of the Remington & Sons gun store at 146 Tremont Street in Boston soliciting the signatures of others who would like to join them.
The name “Massachusetts Rifle Association” was adopted on December 2, 1875 and on December 9th was held "the first meeting of the subscribers to an agreement to associate themselves with the intention to constitute a Corporation to be known by the name of The Massachusetts Rifle Association". As a result of that meeting notice this intent was sent to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on behalf of the MRA's first members:
Dr. Isaac H. Hazelton William H. Jackson Charles E. Sanborn E. G. Osgood George H. Adams E. M. Messenger F. R. Shattuck
December 15, 1875 a charter was granted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (The Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth lists the date of organization as December 23, 1875).
At 3:00 pm on December 17th the newly-chartered Association met at 30 Court Street, Office Number 5, Boston in the office of Charles Wheeler, Justice of the Peace, and voted to adopt its first set of bylaws and, following the adoption of those bylaws, they voted for its first set of officers and directors.
The Association's first set of officers was:
Dr. Isaac H. Hazelton, President Charles E. Lanborn, Vice President F. R. Shattuck, Treasurer Charles A. Sawyer
During the Civil War the Union Army conducted training at Camp Sheppard near Spy Pond in Arlington, Massachusetts. While the members of the newly formed Association had been shooting at the Spy Pond Range since shortly after their initial meeting, their first “official” shoot as the newly chartered Massachusetts Rifle Association took place there on New Year’s Day in 1876.
After a search by the Association’s members for a place to call its own, a lease was entered into with the Boston & Lowell Railroad Company on September 21, 1876 for an area in Woburn, Massachusetts known as “Walnut Hill”. The name “Walnut Hill Range” was adopted on that date. Since the land was covered with woods at that time and needed to be cleared the Association continued shooting at Spy Pond until the initial work at Walnut Hill was completed. The Massachusetts Rifle Association fired its last match at Spy Pond on October 28, 1876.
On November 16, 1876, after much hard work, the first match was held at Walnut Hill. Twenty-one marksmen tried their skill (and luck) shooting targets made of cast iron that were bolted together at the back and posted at 200 and 300 yards.
The Massachusetts Rifle Association has undergone many changes but still remains to this day on "Walnut Hill" in Woburn, Massachusetts near the intersection of routes 128 and 93.

[edit] You Bet, Nevada
You Bet in Nevada received it's name during a discussion in 1857 about the name of the newly founded town. Lazarus Beard, the local barkeeper, agreed to provide whisky for free until a name be found. One of the attending villagers suggested to name the town You Bet after the favorite phrase of the barkeeper. Although intende as a joke, hoping Beard would dismiss the suggestion and continue to serve free whisky, he accepted You Bet as the new name of the town.

Zach Carman of New Garden, Ohio is a 4th grade dropout who is now employed at Hulls Super Duper, which is located about 50 feet from his house. Zach's house is said to be "very old" so it must have been around when my Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Granfather's cat was alive. Zach Carman is one crazy dude. This cat could destroy the universe by punching the groung with his mighty fist. Fortunatly, Zach is against all forms of violence, so dont expect him to do something like that anytime soon. Besides Zach's peacful nature, he loves to play a good video game once in a while. Zach enjoys games like, "I'm Gunna Rip Your Face Off!" and "Goat Sacrifice 7: Wretched Blood" for the Playstation 4. Thats right playststion 4! You see, Zach has some rediculous connections to the Japanese Military and often orders them to ship expensive or even nonexistent products to his house within minutes, if they dont make the deadline, he takes thier soul and gives the bodies to his dog to feast upon. It's either that or he made it in his basement.

[edit] World War II
World War II
For my special interest project, I have chosen World War II. I have selected five separate campaigns to research and analyse.
World War II was the global military conflict that took place between 1939 and 1945. World War II was the largest and deadliest war in history. The war began between Germany and the Allies. Germany was later joined by Italy, Japan, and others, jointly known as the Axis. The Allies at first were made up of Poland, the British Commonwealth, France, and others.
The Battle of Britain (July 1940-May 1941)
A major campaign of the early part of World War II, the Battle of Britain is the name most commonly given to the attempt by the German Luftwaffe to gain air superiority over the Royal Air Force (RAF), before a planned sea and airborne invasion of Britain.
Following the British evacuation from Dunkirk and the French surrender in June 1940, the Germans were uncertain what next to undertake militarily. Hitler believed the war was practically over and that the British, defeated on the continent and without European allies, would quickly be forced to come to terms with Germany. He was wrong. Although there was a strand of British public and political opinion that favored a negotiated peace with a clearly ascendant Germany, the recently-installed British Prime Minister Winston Churchill nonetheless refused to consider an truce with the Nazis. Churchill's skillful use of rhetoric hardened public opinion against a peaceful resolution and prepared the British for a long war.
In this battle, from the beginning, the Nazis had the upper hand. The British Airforce went into the battle with less than 700 fighters while the Nazis had well over 2000. The strategy that the Nazis took into the battle was to destroy as many planes on the ground as possible; therefore bombing the airfields.
