Three years following, he experimented in fluid mechanics research, until he made baby steps into the world of computer animation. Bingo was nominated in 1996 for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. Afterward, he met Ryan Larkin, a renowned animator in the 60s and 70s that had recently fallen in a spiral of excessive drinking, cocaine abuse, and homelessnes. this resulted in the 2004 production of Chris's latest film, Ryan. It won an Oscar the same year.

Circus Metal began in the late 1800's. It is thought to have been derived from the traditional folksongs of traveling gypsies in the widwest. [edit] ADC Theatre, Cambridge, England

The ADC Theatre is owned by the University of Cambridge's student theatre society, the Amateur Dramatic Club, which was founded in 1855 by F C Burnand. Since 1973 the University has managed the theatre. During University terms, the theatre presents a variety of student drama, dance, comedy and music with a weekly two-show policy of a 'main show' at (usually) 19:45 followed by a shorter 'late show' at 23:00. Out of term the theatre is used by local amateur groups. Main shows generally open on a Tuesday evening, late shows on a Wednesday.

The theatre's permanent staff consist a Manager & Licensee, a technical housekeeper and a publicity housekeeper. All are University employees and they generally only serve one or two years in post, often going on to pursue a professional theatre career afterwards. All backstage roles are undertaken by volunteers.

The theatre boasts a 228 seat auditorium with a proscenium arrangement, full height counterweight flying throughout and an impressive array of lighting, sound and scenic equipment. In 2005 and 2006 the theatre underwent a refurbishment programme to provide better front-of-house facilities, full disabled access and better office accommodation.

The choice of repertoire is decided by the theatre's Executive Committee once a term; the Amateur Dramatic Club is guaranteed some slots.

The theatre's website - which includes online booking - is at www.adctheatre.com

The University's Amateur Dramatic Club website is at www.cuadc.org

[edit] Carl Wilhelm Becker aka Becker the Counterfeiter

The following is abridged from George F. Hill’s Becker the Counterfeiter, published in Great Britain, 1924. Hill’s monograph contains illustrations of some 360 examples of Becker’s work. Carl Wilhelm Becker was born at Speyer, Germany, on 28 June 1772. As a youth, Carl showed a taste for art, but his father would not hear of his studying to become a sculptor, as he wished, and sent him to a wine-merchant’s at Bordeaux. Here, according to his daughter’s statement, he already began to make drawings of ancient coins and to cut dies. Becker’s incentive to making imitations of ancient coins was due to a trick which was played upon him by a certain Baron in Munich. Becker acquired from the Baron a false gold coin of the Emperor Commodus. When he discovered its falsity and complained of the swindle, the Baron coolly replied that it serve him right, for meddling with what he did not understand. Becker then set to work to obtain the necessary training, and eventually had the pleasure of making and passing off on the Baron a gold coin, no less rare than the one which the Baron had passed off on him. Becker’s work was done entirely freehand; that is to say there was no mechanical copying, nor did he cast dies. Where he could not obtain an original to work from, he copied a cast in sulphur or plaster. The material of the dies was steel, embedded in soft iron. The metal for his coins was melted down for him by others (sometimes out of ancient coins). The use of ancient coins as blanks had several advantages. The metal was of the right colour; the coins was of the right weight, supposing that the dies represented the same class of coin as the blank belonged to—although it is true that, metrology being in its infancy, Becker did not take trouble to get his weights right. Above all, the edge, which is usually the most tell-tale part of forgery, looked antique. The striking of coins with a sledge-hammer is a laborious process, and how Becker managed it without assistance it is difficult to understand. He reckoned in 1827 that it took him about eight weeks to strike and get out a complete set of his coins. Becker’s total authenticated output comprised the dies for little under 340 different coins and medals. Doubtless he made some others for the attribution of which there is no direct evidence. Becker must sometimes have worked on his dies, making slight modifications, after he had struck off a certain number of pieces. There is a very interesting example of a denarius of Tiberius and Drusus Caesar on which Becker corrected a mistake which he had made in the tribunician year of Tiberius. As to his methods of taking the rawness off his newly finished products, the tradition is that he enclosed them with iron filings in a box attached to the axle of his carriage— “taking his old gentlemen for a drive” he called it.

[edit] Mission Statement

The United States faces unprecedented threats to its national security. While America is under attack from enemies abroad, our long-term economic security, personal rights, and values are under attack here at home.

Formed by General Wesley K. Clark, WesPAC - Securing America’s Future is founded on the belief that a truly secure America demands sound, wise leadership and a renewed commitment to the values that have made our nation great: service, integrity, and accountability.

Anchored in these ideals, and committed to addressing the threats facing America both at home and abroad, WesPAC has two central objectives:

  • Elect Democrats to the White House, Congress, state offices, and local offices in order to implement new policies that will restore our nation’s security and prosperity, comprehensively address the threats facing America and our allies while respecting civil liberties, and replace the current unwise policies established by this Republican Administration and Congress.
  • Provide leadership on U.S. national security issues and develop new, innovative solutions to the challenges facing America at home and abroad.

[edit] History

WesPAC was founded by Wes Clark in April 2004 with a two-fold mission:

  • To elect Democrats to the White House and Congress in order to implement new policies that will restore our nation's security and prosperity, comprehensively address the threats facing America and our allies while respecting civil liberties, and replace the current unwise policies established by this Republican Administration and Congress.
  • To provide leadership on U.S. national security issues and develop new, innovative solutions to the challenges facing America at home and abroad.

To satisfy that mission during the 2004 campaign, WesPAC played a very active role in supporting those candidates who share our values:

  • Raised more than $1 million through fundraising events, fundraising solicitations, and PAC contributions for Democratic House and Senate candidates in critical races across America
  • Traveled to Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington to campaign for Democratic House and Senate candidates
  • Traveled to Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin, and his home state of Arkansas to campaign for John Kerry and John Edwards

You just have to choose the category you want to retrieve the dugg posts. That's it, simple! Press R on your keyboard whenever you want to retrieve the news. If you don't want to look at it anymore just minimize it to the system tray or close it. Not to forget, third button from right is the option button where you set up everything. I will stop now!
