Artuma Fursina Jile

Artuma Fursina Jile is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Oromia Zone, Artuma Fursina Jile is bordered on the west by the Semien Shewa Zone, on the north by Chefe Golana Dewerahmedo, and on the east by the Afar Region. Towns in Artuma Fursina Jile include Adebela, Chefa Robit, Kichicho and Senbete.

This woreda was settled by the Wollo Oromo during the 16th century, and are a large proportion of the inhabitants.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 209,858, of whom 104,520 were males and 105,338 were females; 14,403 or 6.86% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 10.8%. With an estimated area of 1,871.56 square kilometers, Artuma Fursina Jile has an estimated population density of 112.1 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 144.12.[1]
