The Artists Collective, Inc. is an interdisciplinary cultural institution in Hartford, Connecticut which promotes the culture and art of the African diaspora. It was founded in 1970 by saxophonist Jackie McLean, his wife Clarice McLean, bassist Paul Brown, dancer Cheryl Smith, and visusl artist Ionis Martin. . In addition to staging concerts and providing training in dance, theater, music, and visual arts, the Collective provides social programs in employment training, education, and health.
