Major-General Arthur Samuel Allen CB, CBE, DSO, VD (10 March 1894 – 25 January 1959) was an Australian Army Major-General in World War II, nicknamed "Tubby". He held these posts:
- Commanding Officer 14th Australian Brigade
- 1939–1941 Commanding Officer 16th Australian Brigade, Middle East - North Africa - Greece
- 1941–1943 General Officer Commanding 7th Australian Division, Middle East - Java - New Guinea
- 1943–1944 General Officer Commanding Northern Territory Force
He was also military governor in Darwin, Northern Territory 1943–1945.
He was controversially relieved of command of the 7th Division in October 1942 by General Blamey during the Kokoda campaign. This action seemingly came about by a combination Allen's open opinions of both superior and subordinate officers and issues of jealousy and rivalry amongst high command.
