Arthur Levitt, Sr.

Arthur Levitt, Sr. (June 28, 1900-May 1980) was the Democratic New York State Comptroller from 1955 to 1979. Levitt was the longest-serving person in that post.
His son, Arthur Levitt, Jr., was chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission from 1993 to 2001.
