Arthur Joseph Davis (1878-1951), was a British architect. Davis studied at Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1880s. He was a senior partner in the firm Mewes and Davis, with Charles Mewes. The firm designed the construction and decoration of the London Ritz Hotel and private commissions such as Luton Hoo for Sir Julius Wernher, Coombe Court for Lady De Grey and Polesden Lacey for Mrs Ronald Greville. Davis served in World War I before working on a number of banks and ocean liners such as the Aquitania (1911-14) and the Queen Mary (1935).
