Armstrong Houston

Armstrong Houston is the name of a fictional bounty hunter introduced in the Super Metroid comics of Nintendo Power. Like much of the comic, he is not part of the official Metroid storyline.
Houston tends to be the subject of significant attention within the Metroid fandom[citation needed], as he is one of few characters ever introduced into the story, and perhaps the one with the most dubious position. Most of the other characters in the Metroid series have appeared as enemies and boss encounters, leaving only the Etecoons, Dachora, U-Mos, and the sentient computer Adam to keep the Hunter company.
Houston is shown wearing a form of powered space suit similar to the one Samus Aran wears throughout the series. His suit has a notably different design, bearing a uniform blue color and boxier features. Unlike Samus Aran's suit, Houston's is apparently not of Chozo design.
In the comics, Samus appears to have known Houston prior to the events of the Super Metroid comic. Houston is generally depicted as a greedy scoundrel, in contrast to Samus' more heroic portrayal. Eventually he shows a change of heart, as he abandons his bounty to help Samus.
