Armathwaite Castle

Armathwaite Castle is in the village of Armathwaite, Cumbria by the River Eden. Map reference NY 506459.
It is a four-storeyed pele tower which was built in the 15th century. It has a two storey extension which was re-designed in the 18th century. It is the one-time home of John Skelton who was possibly Henry VIII's poet laureate
