"Armatage Shanks" is a song by pop punk band Green Day from their 1995 album Insomniac. The song is named after Armitage Shanks, a British manufacturer of bathroom fixtures after they visited England and noticed the brand labelled on many urinals. Green Day performed this song live at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York on September 4, 1994 instead of their then more popular song, Basket Case
