[edit] Who is Myrddin Arkayne Magii?

Myrrdin Arkayne Magii has been practicing Magick all of his life, and teaching and writing about the subject for over a decade. His ability to percieve things from many different perspectives allows him to see the world that lies just beyond the realms of normal perception.

He has studied the subjects of Magic extensively, including the various aspects such as Psychology and Magic, Chaos Magic, Shamanistic Magic, Symbolic Magic, Religious Magic (and miracle), Mysticism, Spirituality, and the History of Magic, as well as having studied many of the links to modern physics, such as theories relating to Quantum Chaos.

Though he does not claim to be The Authority on the subject, the span of his studies and practice have helped to give him a deep working knowledge and understanding of the subject.

[edit] What is the title Myrddin?

The title Myrddin is specific to the Order of Mages known as the Elodrym. He is one of the two Myrddin which founded the Elodrym, and it is within this organization that he holds the title.

[edit] His Goals

Myrddin Arkayne's goal is to see the subject and practice of Magic(k) elevated from it's current label as paranormal, supernatural, fringe, pseudoscience, etc. to become a legitimate study within the realm of mysticism, spirituality, psychology, and philosophy.

The reason for this is his view that Magic(k) is the bridge between the spiritual and physical, and that neither the physical nor the spiritual is either "higher" or "lower", "less" or "more" than the other, but are intricately and implicitly connected through nature, both simply existing as aspects of a greater reality, the perception of which is limited only by our own ability to accept and understand it. Thus when he crafts a ritual, he always adds the line, "As above, so below... As within, so without... As the mind, so the soul."

Part of what has led to this view is that our perception of the physical world depends on our own personal point of view, understanding of what is possible, and experience, and in many ways our perception of reality reflects what we believe can or should exist. It is common for a person to see only what they choose to see or what they can accept as being possible. This is known as Cognitive Dissonance.

This, along with his own perceptions and experiences with interconnectedness have helped shape his particular views about reality, and it is from this perspective that he approaches the subject of Magic(k) as a whole.
