Arkana

There are several meanings/definitions for Arkana:

  • Arkana is originally an ancient Greek word and means 'mysteries' (plural). It is nowadays frequently used in the Tarot-Tradition (Fortuneteller-cards) - see 'Major' and 'Minor Arkana'.
  • Arkana is the spiritual name of a recognized Pagan Priest, living in Ireland, publisher of the German-Irish magazine 'Wicca-Brief' and the Pagan newspaper 'Wiccan Times', founder of the local (Dublin) 'Witches Round Table' and the 'Pagan Emergency Phone' (PEP), a helpline for harassed Pagans and Heathens. Having been quite active in Germany for the past two decades (several publications, talk shows and even as an actor in a documentary about 'Beltane'), he is already quite well known in the Irish media the past four years.
  • Arkana is the name of a publishing house - publishing mainly books with 'esoteric' contents.
  • Arkana is the name of a British furniture company, well known for round pedestal tables in the 1960s and 70s
  • Arkarna is an electronic music group most notable appearance in the United States for the release of the single "House on Fire", which appears on the Batman & Robin soundtrack.
  • Keny Arkana is a French rap artist.
