Yapeyú es una ciudad argentina, en la provincia de Corrientes, del departamento San Martín

La ciudad se fundó el 4 de diciembre de 1626; su fundador fue el jesuita Pedro Romero, que le dio el nombre de "Villa de Nuestra Señora de los Santos Reyes Magos y Yapeyú". El término Yapeyú viene del guaraní y significa "fruto maduro" y en otros tiempos fue también el nombre del río que hoy en día se conoce como Guaviraví.

Esta ciudad es la villa natal del general José de San Martín.
