Argyrosomus regius (also known as Meagre, Shade-fish, Salmon-Basse or Stone Basse) is a fish of the Sciaenidae family. Similar to a bass, it has a similar form that bass, with a pearly-silver coloration and a salmo-coloured mouth. Length can go from 40-50 cm up to 2 m long, with weight is between 10-40 kilograms.
A. regius is a solitary carnivore who lives in pelagic of coast areas, with a depth range of 15-300 m of depth. Habitat include the Atlantic Ocean and, with a rarer distribution, the Mediterranean Sea.
