Argon Federation

The Argon are a race which reside within the X universe, the setting for the X computer game series by Egosoft. They are the decedents of the first Earth colonists within the X universe. They are now one of the six major races which control most of the X universe.

Many of the first colonists were killed when their creations, the terraformers, turned on them due to a software malfunction. Some daring pilots lead by Nathan R Gunn lead the terraformers away from Earth through the jumpgate which was then self destructed, trapping the terraformer fleet and Nathan’s group in the X universe. They managed to escape the terraformers but they then crash landed on the planet now known as Argon Prime.

Now they are a powerful race who have counter attacked the terraformers, now known as the Xenon, with the help of Kyle Brennen from Earth. They currently face the threat of the Kha’ak, a generally unknown and hostile race with which the Argon nor any other race in the X universe have any friendly contact.

Over the centuries many of the Argon forgot about Earth. It would have turned into a fictional legend if the Goner sect did not preach about it. The Goner started off as religious outcasts for their beliefs in the “Holy planet Earth” but now they are a multi raced religious society who are the leading experts on Earth.

The Argon Federation is run by democracy with every city and space station/factory having its own senator. The leader of the federation is known as the president this position is currently held by a male argon called Frann Herron (during X2 + X3). The Argon worlds range from the planet Sandwell (a desert world) to Omnicron lyrae (a Earth like world)

The Argon are allied to the Boron race. They are currently at peace with the Split, Teladi but the relationship with the Paranid is becoming strained.
