Argo Community High School is a public high school located in Summit, Illinois.[1] It achieved prominence in 2005, due to what was known as the teabagging incident, an event of severe hazing which resulted in the suspension of multiple students and coaches.[2]
[edit] The incident
The incident involved multiple students from the school's varsity wrestling team. After a resounding win (67-0) during a December 1, 2004 match at nearby Bremen High School, the team was celebrating during the bus ride home. According to the Daily Southtown, three of the varsity students pulled individual freshmen to the back of the bus, and then forcibly teabagged them. The school suspended the students, and also suspended three coaches who had all been in the front of the bus rather than monitoring the students in the back. The incident caused the school to set a new policy that coaches should be seated throughout the bus in the future, rather than all in one location.
