Argao Central Elementary School

Argao Central Elementary School is a school located in Poblacion Argao, Cebu, Philippines. This school was established in 1928. The current principal is Mr. Anselmo B. Chavez.[1] As of the 2004-05 school year, the school had an enrollment of 887 students.[1]

Argao Central Elementary School is one of seven schools in the Philippines and Indonesia selected to participate in a UNESCO pilot project called Focusing Resources on Effective School Health (FRESH), which is designed to help schools address health issues that keep childrenfrom enrolling, attending and learning in school. The program was developed in conjunction with UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank and Education International, to focus on four areas that lead to both poor health and poor education outcomes: 1) School policy 2) Safe water and sanitation 3) Health education and 4) Health and nutrition assistance offered through schools. Argao Central Elementary School is developing its own program using the FRESH framework.[2]
