I live in Northern Ireland (well, somebody has to) and have major interests in local history, art, literature, airlines and aircraft, football (soccer) and ice hockey. I hope to reflect these interests and others in the development of useful material for Wikipedia. I started adding contributions in January 2005.

[edit] Current main work
- September 2006: primary schools in Northern Ireland (partial list and 37 articles added)
- September/October 2006: Articles on Troubles incidents by town/village resulting in two or more fatalities (97 articles added)
- October/November 2006: Updates on airline fleets
- November/December 2006: Defunct airline categorisation, airline articles (99 added by 13 December 2006)
[edit] Primary schools in Northern Ireland
I had been adding Primary schools articles for NI, largely stubs, to which new contributors had started to add to and develop etc, but they came under attack by people proposing that all such primary school articles should be deleted as being non-notable etc. You can see the debate at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abercorn Primary School. Following prolonged discussion the articles are being retained. Very many thanks to all who defended the inclusion of Primary schools articles - for once common sense has prevailed.
[edit] The Troubles in Towns/Villages in Northern Ireland
I had added 97 articles relating to incidents of two or more fatalities in towns/villages in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. Many of these were effectively stubs to be added to and developed, with reports on all fatalities, other incidents etc. However, some people do not seem to understand the stub concept and seek to destroy articles rather than build them up and develop them. These articles have been attacked twice - see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Troubles in Moneymore and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Troubles in Tynan. In both cases the Wiki-destructors have been successfully repelled. Very many thanks to all defenders and particularly to those developing and building the articles.
