[edit] Re: UC System
Dropped affiliation as in out of the system?--No way then! I've heard nothing about that, and it can't be true.
I think all articles mentioning "public ivy" status in the intro should flush those references. Public Ivy is a term coined by an unremarkable college guide. To elevate the small endorsement to definition level would be promotional in my opinion.

[edit] Re: UCSD History
I actually don't know enough (authoritatively) about UCSD's history to write very much. My comment was supporting the idea that someone else had proposed because I do know that UCSD'd history is very interesting (I believe it was a failed Eucalyptus tree farm before it was caught up in a battle over anti-semitic restricted covenants, for instance). When I wrote my endorsement of that ther guy's idea, I expected a new history section to blossom within a few days at his direction. If I have some spare time this quarter, I'll try to research the campus history with verifiable resources and then I'll make the section. Soltras 04:40, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] UNC-Duke rivalry
Hi. I have been working on making the UNC-Duke rivalry page and I was wondering if you were interested in helping. Remember 14:19, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Citadel
ArchonMeld, Thanks for the input on The Citadel. However, it was still ranked number 2 puplic university and the masters program was ranked number seven. I think that is correct. Please take a look at this source and let me know if you agree. http://www.citadel.edu/pao/newsreleases/sy05-06/US_News_2006.html Best V/R Drive2365.217.57.101 12:07, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah you're right- No. 2 for public schools in the South but still only for master's degree institutions and then No. 7 overall. ArchonMeld 14:56, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] UNC-CH
I believe I have a right to edit whatever page I please. And if you dislike my edit you have a right to change it back. I feel like you were a little agressive- I didn't start an edit war with you, I made a small change according to my preference. You're right, I either forget to double-check it or simply didn't notice that I had forced the main content downwards, and that was a mistake. But I hardly "f'ed up the whole page," I didn't delete any content or falsify anything. I have no problem with you doing what you please or changing my edits back- but I do think you overreacted. So let's both not be Nazis. Cpastern 08:18, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] University of Nottingham endowments
The webpage does give the figures. http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/finance/fin_stats.htm. Didn't take me long at all to find that. Average Earthman 18:24, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject
I came across your edits to Universities and I thought you might be interested in giving a hand when you can to a wikiproject dedicated to standardizing coverage of universities and colleges world wide: Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Colleges and Universities. As part of the project we have consolidated the 42+ country specific infoboxes and are now working on making sure that every university has an article and an infobox. If not, best luck in your editing. --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 21:27, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hey thanks for the invite! Can't wait to do all the work, but hey we're all obsessive compulsive here. I've already done a few needing infoboxes. Wasn't sure if you wanted me to delete ones from the list as I complete them. Also, how many people are working on this with you? ArchonMeld 19:58, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for writing back and thanks for doing those infoboxes. You can delete the items as you do them or other someone will clear them off the list later. Do NOT mark them with
strikeouts. As far as dedicated users, Cpastern and I are working on the list, though I definitely see items change from not having an infobox to having an infobox, which is why I messaged you. --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 20:10, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Sheffield Shield.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Sheffield Shield.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Unfree Images
I see you have a lot of free time to put pictures up for deletion but all the ones you've put on my page- and I do get excited to see the new message box but am heartbroken to see no one is actually helping me with any projects but rather is messing with old ones I've already made- are actually free to circulate around the internet as they have no copyrighted material in them and they are available on public domain websites with no literature claiming they are not to be copied. The host sites are on the pages I created if you would like to check yourself. ArchonMeld 21:50, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- You claim they are "actually free to circulate around the internet". Ok, let's take Image:55K.jpg as an example. You claim GFDL, but if I look at the source site I see the text "Copyright © 2001-2006 RSportsCars.com. All rights reserved.". Under "terms of use" it says "The copying, redistribution, use or publication by you of any such matters or any part of the Site, except as allowed under "Limited Right to Use" below, is strictly prohibited" and it clearly states that the content of the site is "not for republication, distribution, assignment, sublicense, sale, preparation of derivative works or other use.". So how can you claim the image is GFDL or free to use in any way? // Liftarn

- The Kleemann image is from the Kleemann official site www.kleemann.dk, which has no such stipulaton on its images. RSportscars.com is actually not an authority at all in of itself but takes free and unfree images from across the circle of official automobile internet sites and pools them all together on a page that claims they are its own copyrighted images. That site is a copyright violation itself in many arenas and the only reason its images are easier to find than others are because it pays a ton of money to Google AdSense. Its copyright policy is null and void since it produces not a single one of them itself- it is a cut and paste low-grade site made by a teenager who is now rich from advertisment money. - If it has no stipulation on it's images you can't use them (especially not as GFDL). If you know RSportscars.com "is a copyright violation itself" you certainly shouldn't use images from them. if you steal from a thief you still are a thief. And if you don't want the images deleted you should go to Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images and state your case there. // Liftarn
