Archie Weller

Archie Weller (born 1957) is an indigenous Australian writer.

Born in Western Australia in 1957, Weller was raised on a farm in the South west of the state. His first novel, The Day of the Dog won an award in the Western Australian Week Literary Awards, and was made into a film entitled Blackfellas, which won two AFI Awards. The script Confessions of a Headhunter, which he co-wrote with Sally Riley, won the an award in the 2001 Western Australian Premier's Book Awards. His second novel Land of the Golden Clouds was published in 1998.
