Archdiocese of Bologna

The Archdiocese of Bologna is a Roman Catholic territory in northern Italy, with episcopal see in Bologna. The current Archbishop is Carlo Cardinal Caffarra since 2003.
The archdiocese has the following suffragans:
- diocese of Imola
- diocese of Faenza-Modigliana
- archdiocese of Ferrara-Comacchio.

The bishopric was founded in the 3rd century and raised to the level of archdiocese on 10 December 1582.
Four Archbishops have been elected to the Papacy as Pope Julius II, Pope Gregory XV, Pope Benedict XIV and Pope Benedict XV.
