April Gets in Dutch is episode number 154 of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series. The episode is a part of the Vacation in Europe series from 1992-1993. The Vacation in Europe series take place during season 4, so the Technodrome is still in Dimension X. This episode of the show was written by Misty Taggart. It originally aired on November 20, 1993, on CBS.
On their trip to Europe, the turtles, April O'Neil and Irma visit Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The turtles hide the Turtle Van inside a big box. They eat a pizza, and discover that this was the last. The turtles are worried that it will be hard to find a pizzeria in Amsterdam. April and Irma are covering the showing of the Duchess Diamond.
Krang wants the diamond, a flawless stone, to focus the rays on his Laser Dimension Blade, a device which can be used to bring the Technodrome from Dimension X to Earth. The Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady go through the dimensional portal to Earth to steal the Duchess Diamond. When they arrive in Amsterdam, the turtles defeat them in a fight. Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady steal a motor boat and escape.
Two thieves, Spats Sparkle and another thief, also try to steal the diamond by replacing the real diamond by a false copy.
When April goes on air, the turtles watch her from an indoor manhole connected to the building. They learn that Shredder wants the Duchess Diamond. Suddenly, someone turns the lights off. It is the two Dutch thieves, who opens the glass and steal the real diamond and replaces it with the false. A few seconds later, Rocksteady arrives and smashes the glass and steal the false diamond, which he believes is the real diamond. Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady find a tandem bike, and escape with the false diamond. When the lights come back, people see that the diamond is stolen. The Dutch police arrive, and stops people from leaving the room. They ask people if some of them have seen Spats Sparkle, a diamond thief. The thieves put the diamond in Aprils bag.
A lady says she saw April standing near the diamond when it was stolen, and the police believe that April is guilty, and arrest her. The turtles save April from the police, and head to the sewers together with Irma and have to run from the police.
The thieves steal a motor boat and arrive in the sewers. They take the diamond from April, and also kidnap her. Michaelangelo borrows Irma's clogs and tries to save April by throwing his grappling hook after the motor boat. But one of the thieves uses a knife to cut the grappling hook's rope. The thieves escape to a cheese factory, where they tie April to ropes hanging over cheese, and when the wooden beam is destroyed by her weight, she will fall down into the cheese. April uses her turtle come to send a signal to the turtles and tell them where she is. The turtles head off to save April.
Meanwhile, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady arrive at an abandoned windmill. They place the diamond near a machine Krang sends. The diamond explodes, and they realize that it was a false diamond. They begin to search for the real diamond, and find the cheese factory.
At the cheese factory, the turtles save April and head away. A big fight erupts. The thieves escape and give up their plans. When the ground begins to shake, they know that Krang and Shredder is behind this. They track the windmill and defeat Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady. The turtles jump out of the windmill because Donatello did something with the machine. Instead of sending the Technodrome to Earth, the windmill is sent to Dimension X. The windmill reaches the dimensional portal and crashes right into the Technodrome. Krang blames the Shredder.
Back on Earth, April and Irma have discovered a pizzeria: The Wooden Shoe.
