Apollo (band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not to be confused with the bands Apollo 100 or Apollo 440.

Apollo was a short-lived Finnish band who released their eponymous album in 1970. Musically, they were heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin, though the music on the album also incorporated elements of psychedelia and early progressive rock. The band's line-up consisted of Edward Vesala (drums, percussion), Harri Saksala (vocals, accordion, harmonica), Eero Lupari (guitar) and Heimo Holopainen (bass). Except for Vesala, all of these had earlier played in the popular Finnish band Topmost. The album was re-released by Warner Finland in 2002.
